TOUR GROUP INFORMATION

Plan Your Group Tour Experience

The Ralph Stanley Museum offers group tours to adult, motor coach, and student groups who schedule in advance. We are open to tours for many varieties of groups, including civic and community organizations, social clubs, corporate outings, senior groups, book clubs, church groups, college classes, international groups, car clubs, and elementary, middle, and high school students.

ADULT GROUPS

For our adult and motor coach groups, we offer a short introduction to the Chase House, Dickenson County, and Clintwood VA history along with the tour of the museum. We can also add live music, a meal, and/or movie to your tour.

STUDENT GROUPS

The Ralph Stanley Museum offers interesting and engaging field trips for K-12 and college students. Students can learn about the origins
and impact of bluegrass music, the history of the Stanley Brothers, Ralph Stanley's career, and the role mountain music has played in
Appalachian history. We also discuss following your dreams and how someone from a rural area in the mountains of Virginia went on to win Grammy awards, have their music in movies, and to work hard at the things they love. We can also customize your visit to tie into state standards and different curricula needs.

K-12 TOUR RATES

Per Student $5.00
Chaperones & Bus Drivers Free
1 per 10 students

We recommend spending at least 1 ½–2 hours in the museum to provide your group with enough time for their tour and related activities,
along with the possibility of taking part in other learning programs. For instance, we can include a variety of educational and fun
activities such as hands-on instrument time, Banjo Bingo, or Name that Instrument and other lessons that suit your needs.

All tours contain fundamental information about Bluegrass and Mountain music and heritage.

Our tours, activities, and scavenger hunts can be geared toward elementary, middle, or high school levels. College-level tours and
programs are also available. To schedule your school field trip with us, contact us at 276-926-8383 ext 3302 M-F 10a.m. to 3p.m. or
